Receptionist

Part Time 14 hours a week (plus holiday coverage)

 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Receptionist will be responsible for a variety of reception, general office/computer duties and clerical assistance in a busy confidential office setting.  Demonstrating a respectful and compassionate interaction with our clients is always our top priority

.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide front end reception duties including greeting clients, answering phones
  • Respond to routine queries about Pathways and the services offered
  • Assist clients with basic information and refer to appropriate staff or community agencies
  • Receive and sort incoming mail/emails/deliveries and processes outgoing mail
  • Record donations and prepare charitable receipts
  • Ensure filing systems and file documents are maintained
  • Responsible for filing, photocopying, collating, faxing of documents
  • Ensure the reception area, meeting rooms and other areas are kept tidy and welcoming
  • Perform general data entry including stats for government reports
  • Prepares AR/AP support for bookkeeper
  • Ensures staff timesheets are in in and hours are logged for payroll
  • Work closely with other receptionist to ensure smooth transitions of workload
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and cultural competence
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, optimism, a friendly demeanor and composure

Qualifications:

  • 2 years experience in busy office environment
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Exposure to non-profit environments through either employment or volunteer work
  • Exceptional organizational, problem solving and attention to detail skills
  • Excellent communication/relationship building skills with an ability to work with varied staff, vulnerable population, community partners etc.
  • The ability to adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, prioritize and work independently. Must be self directed.
  • Proven customer service skills while maintaining a strict confidential work environment

 

This is a 14 hour a week position at $17.00/hour

Addictions Counsellor

Part Time Term Position

September 4, 2018 to March 31, 2019

 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Addictions Counsellor will provide out-patient counselling, treatment referrals and support to individuals dealing with substance use and addictions.

 

Duties Include:

  • Provide assessments, treatment planning, referrals, ongoing case management, and counselling services to designated clients
  • Provide treatment referrals as required
  • Liaise with agencies and referral sources including Interior Health, probation, social services, mental health and other agencies
  • Maintain confidential records on a computer management system including case notes
  • Adhere to all agency policies, procedures and code of ethics

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Counselling or related social service field with 2-3 years’ experience with addictions preferred. An undergraduate degree with 6-8 years experience will be considered
  • Familiar with other services and resources in the community
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a case management team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer programs
  • Must pass a criminal record check and agency screening process

 

This position is a 3 day per week term position (September 4 2018- March 31, 2019), 21 hours a week.  Wages starting at $26.00-$28.00 per hour depending on experience.

Community Dialogue Project Coordinator

 

Contract Position

September 15, 2018 to March 31, 2019

 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Community Dialogue Project Coordinator will develop and roll out presentations, dialogues and materials Promoting a Healthy Drinking Culture in BC

“I’ll Drink to That” Promoting a Healthy Drinking Culture in BC     

Alcohol related harms are on the rise in BC due to increasing levels of alcohol consumption. This project aims to bring together key players to disseminate a common message throughout the industry on moderation and responsible consumption.

Duties Include:

  • Establish and lead community dialogues on moderate drinking guidelines with Teens, Young Adults, Adults, and Older Adults
  • Disseminate a common message throughout the public and industry about moderate consumption
  • Develop a Tool Kit, print material and social media campaign
  • Create and deliver relevant presentations to the public
  • Work with Pathways’ staff to deliver key messages to youth in the school system
  • Report on activities and milestones to stakeholders
  • Adhere to all agency policies, procedures and code of ethics

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in project coordination and facilitation
  • Experience developing print and media campaigns
  • Familiar with other services and resources in the community
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to meet contract deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer programs
  • Must pass a criminal record check and agency screening process

This is a contract position of $5800.00 starting September 15, 2018 until March 31, 2019 with

deliverables deadlines throughout the project.
